Michigan AEYC Has a New Look and an Important Message

We are in an exciting time for early childhood both nationally and in Michigan! As a result of an extensive reorganizational process which engaged many affiliate leaders, members, the Michigan AEYC and NAEYC Governing Boards, a new Affiliate structure went into effect. The new Affiliate structure is intended to ensure that thare are consistent levels of capacity to offer membership services and benefits by each Affiliate.

As a member of NAEYC and Michigan AEYC, you have more opportunities to attend activities, events and trainings across the entire state. If you would like to be involved with planning activities and events in your regional chapter, stay tuned! More information to come soon!

You may have also noticed our new Michigan AEYC logo. As the state affiliate of NAEYC, we are pleased to align with the new national brand with a fresh color scheme, and new bold fonts for all of our publications in print and online. The goal is to bring all state affiliates together with a common look that represents NAEYC's values and beliefs of innovation, trust, respect, and collaboration. Regional chapters of Michigan AEYC, partners and vendors will also follow these guidelines when providing any graphic representation of Michigan AEYC.

New Regional Chapter Structure

You may be familiar with the previous structure in Michigan where there were 16 stand-alone local affiliates that worked directly with NAEYC. They held individual meetings and events locally. Working in collaboration with Michigan AEYC to provide a broad range of member services, all former local affilaites will be dissolving and becoming part of the new regional chapter structure. The goal of the new structure is to allow for more efficient and effective use of volunteers' time, energy and efforts to support membership and the field of early childhood!
As the result of changes to non-profit law as well as restructuring at the state and national level, Michigan AEYC has revised the bylaws and articles of incorporation.

Please review the approved bylaws here.
